Today I’m going to show you how I shave my long haired cat so she stays cool during the crazy heat wave we’re going through, I just bought a pet trimmer online to get the job done, you can use any pet trimmer as they are usually designed to be quieter so they don’t scare your pet. I like this one because it’s rechargeable, start by trimming paws or other places I want a close shave, the blades get hot after a while of use so I trim the paws first so that when the blades come into contact with the beans on her paws the blades are still cool. When I shave daku I have to bribe her with tuna just to keep her quiet otherwise she has no interest in keeping quiet being shaved as she prefers to watch her cat TV, I did shave her a month and a half ago and I didn’t shoot so she didn’t have too much fur.

Now her hair is really long, like a winter coat, if your cat keeps it long enough you can give it a small trim with scissors before using the trimmer, if not an electric trimmer would be great for those who want it as well, to try and shave your cat at home I would suggest you use the guard supplied with the trimmer that you buy as it protects the cat from having a lot of loose skin areas such as the armpits, the belly of the hind legs and the neck area you won’t want to shave too close and accidentally cut your kitten’s skin, the guard also prevents the hot blades from irritating your cat, even with tuna she is a little impatient so I had to shave multiple times over two to three days because I didn’t want to feed her too much tuna and give her diarrhoea, come on show off your lion I tried shaving her front paw a little bit and it was very uneven and I shaved it but I’m not a professional so that’s what she would have to look a little bit like crazy, it’s still cute so even though it’s the most uneven haircut and the top coat is beautiful it’s just that it’s a little bit chewed up on her tummy and her leg area but other than that it still looks cute, look at the fur on her tummy I trimmed it a little bit but it’s not very short, the Because she has a lot of loose skin on her tummy and the back of her legs and she has a very sensitive tail she didn’t really want me to shave too much, I definitely don’t think I did a good job but, it worked, she’s very cool in the summer and she lays on marble tiles which also keeps her cool.
